Dow is proud to work with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) to help achieve the shared goal of a more sustainable, carbon-neutral 2010 Winter Games.

Dow's support of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games closely aligns with the Company's broader commitments set forth in our 2015 Sustainability Goals. These commitments include improving energy efficiency, contributing to community success, addressing climate change and providing solutions to world challenges through sustainable chemistry.

At the 2010 Winter Games, Dow products, together with our expertise in building science, will help optimize insulating solutions that promote energy conservation and savings, lowering the overall carbon footprint of the Games.

Leading the Way, Step by Step
From using locally harvested, reclaimed wood in the roof of the Richmond Oympic Oval to reusing waste heat at Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Centre, VANOC is seeking ways to minimize its environmental footprint. In fact, nine of 10 of the newly constructed 2010 Winter Games venues are applying for independent certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system.
